EduYana is a school management, learning and parent-communication platform operated bySaju Sudhakaran ("we", "us"). Schools that subscribe to EduYana ("Schools") decide what student and family information is recorded. We process that information on the School's behalf and only to provide the service. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices available to you, in line with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
Information we process
- Account details: name, email address, mobile number, role and school.
- Student records entered by the School: class and section, attendance, homework, exam results, timetable, transport, hostel and library records.
- Fee and payment records: invoices and payment status. Card, UPI and bank details are handled directly by our payment partner Razorpay and are never stored on our servers.
- Messages, notices and support queries exchanged through the app.
- Technical data: device type, app version, IP address and security logs used to keep accounts safe.
How we use it
- To let parents, students, teachers and school staff use the features the School enables.
- To send service messages such as verification codes, fee receipts and school notices.
- To secure accounts, prevent fraud and meet legal obligations.
- To improve reliability and performance using aggregated, non-identifying statistics.
We do not sell personal data and we do not use student data for advertising.
Sharing
Data is visible only to users the School authorises. Parents can see only their own children. We use carefully selected service providers for hosting, email delivery and payments, bound by confidentiality and data-protection obligations. We disclose data to authorities only when required by law.
Security and retention
Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS), access is role-based, and administrative actions are logged. We retain records for as long as the School's subscription is active, or as the School instructs. When a School leaves, we delete or return its data within a reasonable period unless the law requires us to keep it.
Your rights
You may ask to access, correct or erase your personal data, or withdraw consent where it applies. Because Schools control student records, most requests are best made to your School; we will help them respond. Where a child is under 18, a parent or guardian exercises these rights on the child's behalf.
Contact
Questions or grievances about privacy can be sent to our Grievance Officer at sajusudhakaran@gmail.com. We aim to respond within 7 working days.
